First interested in photography as a tool to document and preserve history, I photographed urban remnants and cityscapes but more recently I’ve been drawn to it’s role in how archives are formed into the stories we hold onto, and photography’s own trajectory from analog to digital. I experiment with breaking down the physicality of film and photos to rebuild them into new stories by freezing, melting and forming them into an animated construct, giving it a life of it’s own.
I am a native New Yorker with a BFA in Photography from SUNY Purchase. From 1996 to 2004 I worked for the artist Anselm Kiefer as his photographer and printer at his studio in southern France. My photography has been shown in New York City, San Francisco, France and Portugal. I currently reside in New York City.
